Happy Easter

I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Easter Vigil Mass was beautiful last night. Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for us and I thank Him!

I was cantor last night and was quite nervous but I did my best. I love the candlelight and the music and most of all I love seeing people initiated into the Church! The ham is in the oven and I am preparing for a nice day with family, going to see my mom and aunt, and just hanging out. Mark has to work today which is a bummer but hopefully he will enjoy a nice dinner when he gets home. Its cold this morning..about 40 degrees..chilly for April!

Thats ok with me I am not looking forward to the hot summer. This house heats up big time in the summer but someday I will get central air conditioning in here :)

Hopefully I will get down to the shore a couple of days this summer if my neck and shoulder get better. Right now I am in a lot of pain from the car accident but its getting better. Please keep me in your prayers.

What are your plans for Easter? Let me know what fun you had!
Hugs,
Amy

  1. Amy, thanks for sharing your Easter festivities. Today is the 14th, so Easter Sunday has come and gone, however, the resurrection should be celebrated each and every day. At my house, we had turkey this year. I know that ham is the norm. it seems, but we had a turkey in the freezer, so I said lets have it...and we did. It was so good. I actually don't eat turkey, but love all the dressings and sides that go with it. My grandmother was admitted to the hospital today. This did not surprise me cuz she isn't well. She has congestive heart failure and multiple myoloma (blood cancer) and is just plain ill. I pray that the effects of the car accident are getting better and that you are made whole again, In Jesus' name. Love your blog, Shalom, st :P~

  3. My friend Sharon wrote this comment for me but she couldn't get it to post so here it is :)
How was your time with your mom? Did she make you a card?

We woke up to snow Easter morning and like one pastor put it because of the blood of JESUS we have been washed whiter than snow.

and after sticking the ham into the oven off we went to church. The music was good and the message about the folded napkin showing that JESUS was returning. Mac's sister and nephew suprised us by showing up. Then home to dinner and the kids hunted eggs in the snow and got wet and cold. but it didn't faze them...

i love the reminder Easter gives...JESUS is risen as HE said and HE is coming back...

    hugs
    Sharon

  4. I thank you so much for taking the time to post in my blog!
Easter was great and my mom was in good spirits. I visited her at the care home they were having a great lunch of baked ham and all the trimmings I wish she could have come to my house but she couldn't so I enjoyed time with her there. My aunt had Easter dinner with us and it was nice to spend time with her
My mom did make me a card and gave us all a hug she had a good day.
It was a nice peaceful day. The kids are getting older but they both still got Easter baskets with plastic eggs with treats inside :)
The church was beautiful at Easter Vigil Mass with all the lillies it smelled so good!
I am so glad that you had a great day!
    God bless and hugs,

  5. Amy,

Especially this year, I just can't resist responding to your Easter posting.

We've been in touch even without your new blog, so you know what was so special about Easter for me this year. I'm finally officially Catholic. I was baptized in my previous church when I was in grade school, but at the Easter Vigil I received the sacraments of confirmation and my first communion. It was a night that I'll never forget.

I sure wish you could have been in California to share that evening with me. I still have this dream of hearing you sing live. It just isn't the same listening over the internet.

Thanks for being a friend and being a special part of my journey to the Catholic Church.

Peace, Love and Blessings (and HUGS),
    Michael
