  2. Love those fish sandwiches.

As for the lip ring, you don't have to give any reason other than, "I am your mother and the answer is no", and I don't think she can get it done unless you sign a release anyway. Once she is eighteen you won't be able to use that line, but hopefully by that time she will realize that a lip ring is not attractive.

  4. Hi Bean!
Yep I am totally against the lip ring but my husband is quite the wild child and is more apt to saying ok..gasp!
So I say no he says "we'll see" ...grrrr!
So I pray he comes to his senses!
My daughter reads my blog so she gets a kick out of this little discussion and I have shown her your comments :)
    God bless!

dad goes in for a lower gi tomorrow. today's upper gi showed nothing of note. they did get his carotic stint in today as well! he ate well today...so the doctor's are pleased he is going to be strong enough for the lower gi.
they are treating him very well :)

  6. Hey Amy,

Sometimes you have to pick you battles. I will say that my older daughter she is now 23, got her tongue pierced when she was 18 - YUKKO. Anyway the novelty of a pierced tongue wore off pretty quickly and after a few months she removed the stud and never put it back in.
Move forward almost 6 years, she is a hair dresser (loves her job), is married and is mother to our first grandchild and is expecting our second grandchild in just a few weeks. There are no weird piercings, she and her husband are great parents and we are very proud of them.

So I guess I am saying, kids will do things to figure out who they are, where they fit in, etc. and most will move through the phase and turn into the responsible adults we raised them to be.

One good thing with a piercing, if you change your mind it at least is not noticeable, unlike tattoos. Some kids seem to cover themselves in tattoos at 18, and don't think about the ramifications of having to live with their art choices at 18 when they are 50 - but that is another discussion.

    Blessings,

    Martine

    Hi Martine :)
Thanks so much for sharing you put my mind at ease..so far no lip ring. My husband will be the one to take her if she gets it but he knows how I feel and has not said yes or no yet, but has given our daughter the answer of "maybe" :)
thats better than "ok" but not as good as no but like you said I have to pick my battles. Its good to hear that this crazy stuff is just a phase. I am sure there will be much more in store for me with the teenage years lol!
I count my blessings and am so blessed to have my loving yet crazy family :)
    God bless and hugs
